Not only does the law of attraction not exclude the Source that makes it all happen, it relies on that source. That is another form of mis-alignment, when our desires are not aligned with the ultimate Good, or what some people would refer to as “God’s will.”

The differences are largely semantic. Some will call making requests of God “prayer,” while a different label will be given by those making requests of “the universe”, which may be their concept of God/Creator/Source.

I was raised and very involved with the Christian church for much of my life. There is a real value in seeking the wisdom and support of others, also a real value in seeking/recognizing connection with the Divine – again, semantics, what some would call “worship.” For others, that connection might be called “meditation,” though meditation can have many meanings.

What is not helpful about some Christian churches is the perpetuated concept of fatalism that grows out of the philosophy of predestination, the idea that we are ultimately victims of circumstance.

To the extent that “church” is a living organism empowering people to connect with Spirit/Source and live in that power, it serves people. To the extent that “church” behaves as a religious institution that pretends to mediate Source while doling out shame, blame, and striving for control (by offering “salvation” that only it can provide), it does not serve people.

Very good points.
I agree that it is important to be honest with yourself. I think also it is important to meditate or find a way to replenish one’s self. The law of attraction doesn’t exclude the energy source that makes it all happen. Meditation, church, prayer, and/or worship play an important part in helping to reshape your thinking and feelings.

Ooh, I like that idea – the Laws of Fit! Do see Jon Gabriel’s work on what makes our bodies “want” to be Fit or Fat – there is the same problem of “mis-alignment” that happens internally in this regard, too. (As I’m sure I don’t have to tell you!)

I’m plugged in with an amazing book/publishing/book marketing/speaking coach and group, if you ever want some specific support with that idea.

Thanks for this. It follows in line with a new train of thought that I started over the weekend: The Laws of Fit.

I’ve never really considered writing a book before. But this one may just be the compelling topic. So let me just reiterate, your thoughts here are VERY relevant.
